Pros

Some of the coworkers. There are genuinely good people who work here and try to support one another. Depending on location, basic training can be decent.

Cons

Management and workplace culture deteriorated significantly after Bob Johnson Auto Group took over in 2021. Prior to the acquisition, morale was strong family-like environment with solid training and real opportunities for advancement. After the takeover, leadership behavior changed completely. Upper management is disconnected and operates out of fear of ownership rather than logic or professionalism. Employees are constantly and unnecessarily pressured and monitored, often for reasons unrelated to performance. At times, treatment feels arbitrary as if leadership simply doesn’t like how you look, walk, or talk. Over time, it becomes clear that employees are treated as expendable foot soldiers, and eventually even managers are not valued or supported. The culture is toxic. HR is involved far more often than should ever be normal in a functional organization. Favoritism is obvious, accountability is inconsistent, and there is unprofessional, high-school-style gossip coming directly from management. Common sense is noticeably absent. Leadership also has a habit of changing things that are working and breaking systems that don’t need fixing, creating unnecessary obstacles that make it extremely difficult to simply do your job and earn a living. Turnover is extremely high, which speaks for itself. Overall, this is one of the worst workplace cultures I’ve experienced in the automotive industry.
