Pros

The Boston franchise owners are down to earth good people. They mean well and you can tell they care about the company and their people (They have strong ethics) . As with any small business there are advantages and disadvantages based on the size of the company, but Boston did a good job of trying to take care of it's employees despite it's size. The venue itself is very fun and you get to interact with folk from all walks of life. If you're someone who can adapt to the needs of their schedule and want to be social at work this is a great early job for you.

Cons

The average age of the people who work there is quite young, making it hard for older employees to envision a longer term career here. The revolving door of high school and college part timers makes forming relationships with your coworkers difficult, and means the majority of the decisions are made with this in mind. It works for them and is a great job if you're starting out in your career. The parent company was very controlling. Visitors would ask if there are more locations coming to the US, but we would always have to skirt around the topic with "maybes" and "hopefully's". My understanding is that the leadership at the parent company were difficult to work with and so many deals fell apart, which is sad because it's a cool business.

Pros

Fun environment to work. Have made great relationships with co-workers. Company makes a focus to do staff-outings.

Cons

As a part-time job, it was fantastic, especially if you are open to doing more work. There are many paths and options on the floor.

Pros

I really enjoyed my time there most of the days. I worked hard and was paid fairly for how far a pushed myself. Some management became good friends of mine, and some employees and I are still friends. This place is really fun if you need a part time job and enjoy being on your feet. The perks of being able to Quest for free is also really fun!

Cons

More than once I was told they weren't sure where I fit in. Which really frustrated me as I bounced around helping as much as I could. Working upstairs, downstairs and the kitchen, it felt like I was giving my all, but upper management clearly did not know really where I could be valued. Some employees were also definitely favored by managers that thankfully no longer work there. I'd walk in and see people laying down on the floor chatting with managers, when they should have been working. And no one cared. It was certainly frustrating at times. I was also not asked back after the pandemic, and didn't know it because I didn't get an email or anything. I just found out that some members were asked and I just assumed I wasn't due to the lack of communication. I also hated that tips weren't allowed. A customer handed me a tip once, and after refusing twice my manager took it from the customer and put it towards a "team pizza night". Which felt like BS to me.
