Pros

Historically, one thing BombBomb is great at is hiring amazingly talented, compassionate (most of the time) people. You'll see in a lot of reviews the same sentiments, and it's genuinely true. I was fortunate to work with so many wonderful people across all departments. The engineering department was once a great team, full of so many intelligent and kind employees. Always willing to help and share their knowledge. I learned so much in my time there, and I'm truly grateful for the experience.

Cons

Over many years of employment with BombBomb I had often heard our C-level and Senior Leadership tout the work we were doing was all for the sake of "Rehumanizing" the planet. The last few years, specifically this past year, nothing feels further from the truth—if you happen to be a BombBomb employee. If you are wary of companies who use phrases like "we're family", steer clear of BombBomb. I heard this kind of talk many many times, and after being part of the most recent layoffs I can tell you this is not any "family" you want to be a part of. For over 5 years of service I was rewarded with 4 days of insurance, and less than a month’s paycheck to “assist” while I looked for new employment. The business outlook has gone from bad to worse. I understand businesses need to sometimes downsize and the market has not been great, but with this new COO at the helm (making some questionable decisions) it feels like everything is going downhill fast. Between laying off almost all of the marketing staff earlier this year in favor of hiring a third party agency (who has not been worth the “fortune” BombBomb spent on them), to rumors of nepotism, it doesn’t feel like things will be getting better anytime soon. My advice? Pass.

We understand that the new direction resulted in changes that impacted people. The hard decisions that were made were not taken lightly but were necessary. We did recently bring a COO onboard to gain the perspective and expertise that she has from over 20 years of experience growing other tech firms. BombBomb has been facing obstacles for some time in the market, as well as internally that have been hindering our ability to grow. We must address those items so that we can return to a path of success. We appreciate you providing your thoughts and insight. We truly wish you success in new endeavors.

Pros

Amazing team culture! Everyone works well with each other. Sometimes companies need to pivot, and that's okay! They know who to keep around, as long as you say "yes" and can fit in with the crowd, they'll keep you around. It probably also helps to not have a large salary.

Cons

Layoffs left and right, but it's for the greater good.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your feedback — we genuinely appreciate your insights. We're glad that you feel our team culture is amazing and collaborative. We strive to maintain an inclusive environment that embraces diversity of all kinds, including religious diversity. While we deeply respect everyone's personal beliefs, it's important for us to clarify that our organization is committed to welcoming and supporting individuals from all backgrounds and faiths equally. We also recognize that periods of pivoting and change can be challenging, and we greatly appreciate your observations about employee retention and recent adjustments. Please know these decisions were thoughtfully made to align with our strategic goals, enhance our team's skillset, and position us for sustainable growth. Salary does not determine one's value or tenure at BombBomb — we strongly believe in rewarding talent, commitment and contribution. We are now actively hiring new roles to match our exciting vision for the future and are optimistic about the opportunities ahead. Thanks again for your review — your input is important and we appreciate the feedback.

Pros

Pretty good culture. I think leadership generally cared about people and doing the right thing but maybe made some bad calls from time to time.

Cons

Success, status, promotions, influence, etc was too much of a popularity contest. There were people who were the favorites who had doors opened for them, who had big influence on decisions, and who were promoted regularly based largely on how likeable they were and how much they buddied up to senior management. I'll say this wasn't extreme or obnoxious, but it was definitely noticeable and is something I heard multiple coworkers observe as well.

Thank you for sharing your input and for doing so with thoughtfulness and nuance. We appreciate that you recognized the genuine care leadership had and continues to have for our people, even while naming something that fell short of the standard we hold ourselves to. We take your feedback regarding consistency and fairness in recognition and promotion to heart. We feel strongly that advancement should be driven by merit, contribution, and clearly defined criteria, not by relationships or visibility. Our leadership and team structure have undergone significant changes, bringing a genuine recommitment to building transparent and equitable processes. We've been focused on establishing clearer frameworks for how decisions around promotion and influence are made, so that every employee has a fair path forward regardless of tenure or relationships. We're grateful for your candor as this is the kind of feedback that helps us reflect and hold ourselves accountable. We wish you well as you progress in your career.
