Pros
Work life balance is the best you're going to find anywhere--they don't kill you with work like an Amazon or a Netflix. The products and technologies you get to work on are always interesting and can make for good research. The people you get to work and interact with on the day are day are talented, smart and know what they're doing for the most part. A rare private company that doesn't have to respond to the whims of the marketplace. This can make for interesting long-term explorations and bets.
Cons
Really poor management training and hiring practices. It was constant problem over the 10+ years I was there. They either take good individual contributors and force them into a management track, when they may have no interest or desire. Or they hire outside candidates who may be unequipped to manage. A lot of re-orgs that are done in haste with poor communications that follow. This lead to a lot of rumors, speculations, anxiety about the future. Communications in general has never been Bose's strong suit. But it's a private company that doesn't have to answer to shareholders, so could be expected.
