Pros

Good food, snacks, one way transport, Wi-Fi and broadband reimbursement. Overall office culture is superlative and of course the Brand name. Affiliation and engagement though out the year, pay bonus on time. You will work with "some of finest people" on this planet.

Cons

It is not recommended to apply for this role if it pertains to their GS/ES. They have started hiring people directly from university, cheap hoteliers and average people with whom you have to workday by day. If this is the case, they should start hiring 3rd parties instead Many people say it has become a "call centre" and a typical BCG BPO. Many people have joined this team only to take IJP later. Some of them clearly say upfront sadly the outlook of IJP is grim too- HR go around the corner and find mediocre talent from the market without spending time and looking people around- This is not about this team or that team but most teams. They have sold this "model" worldwide and it would hurt them later as the focus shifts to quantity instead of quality. Learning opportunity- Basic- also a lot happen for the sake of it because someone is answerable. The team is so big that they cannot host skip level meeting on 1:1- Imagin inviting whole shifts/ around 30-40 people for the skip level- Do they ever get the "actual" feedback so this exercise is just whitewashing.

Pros

BCG has top tier benefits, really smart colleagues, good in-office perks, and has a great company reputation. This was a huge part of my experience and has made me go back forth about my decision to leave.

Cons

This is speaking as someone who is not on the consulting side. On my particular team, office politics were very strong with little to no opportunities for people outside of the inner circle to assimilate. More broadly, I feel like the salary trajectory was a little slow, there is a lack of location mobility and and promotions can be hard to come by. Even so, I have personally seen exceptions be made for certain people. More broadly, being located in North America can be difficult since new roles are being open in other regions which is making internal mobility next to impossible. If you have any dissatisfaction with your current team, title, or level - there's a real possibility that you will have to wait multiple years before being able to make meaningful shifts towards your long term career goals.
