Pros

Working in other departments here, people seem happy.

Cons

DO NOT WORK IN SALES ROLE HERE. This is the only department I am speaking to since that is where I worked. I'm sure other roles and reviews from those folks are truly happy. Who wouldn't be when getting paid a set income and believing you are changing people's lives for the better? But, this is not you in a sales role. You are paid 100% commission and they have nothing to lose by hiring you. (Side note, do not let them pressure you in leaving your employer with a 2-3 day notice because you may very well need that job you disliked after realizing you made a mistake.) It can be so easy to ignore a "negative" review when we want to believe the others the company solicits to bury (notice date of when they're written) and to think it's just one disgruntled past employee who was not very good at what they did or just had some sort of personality clash. I get it. I wanted to believe the job ad too since it sounded SO GOOD!!! It's a dream job and meant to be, right!? They pray on that hope and people's naïveté. I wish I trusted the reviews I saw on here from last year when I was in your position of doing my homework. 11 people on a team of 20 left over last 2.5 months and this isn't new. This is how long it takes before the average person catches on that they're being baited with a "6 figure" job and empty promises with making barely minimum wage. My opinion aside, super high turnover speaks for itself and like I shared, I'm coming from an extensive sales background also having managed myself and staff, working from home and being the top sales representative in a similar role for a different company. I've also run my own 6 figure business that started from the ground up and sold. Previous to that, I was part of the few that get into medical and pharmaceutical sales. First, why do you think they spent so much money on that hiring video? Because they want to oversell a "work from home" situation and get in front of as many hopeful and disgruntled sales folks who don't mind working for 100% commission as they can with the hope that YOU will make it there. And, that others just weren't as good as you are. This company has zero financial risk in lying to you since you don't make any money until you make them money. Not writing this would weigh on my conscience which is the only reason I'm doing so. If I can save just one person from working for this awful sales management who loses absolutely nothing by lying to you in their job ad, it's served it's purpose. Most importantly, know the character of the people managing you. Upper management loves them and actually embraces this behavior below. After only one month working here, in June 2019, I witnessed one of the long standing managers relentlessly shame one of our newest team members after she asked some questions in a team meeting where they asked for feedback on how we could improve our sales results since they were having a very bad month. Again, she was simply asking questions because they asked for input. My co-worker was shamed and embarrassed, so much so that she had to run off screen to cry. Later in that meeting, the manager leading it, shared to all of us that "you don't want to see how upset I can get!" Over what? Your sh*t show appt setting results which you take no responsibility for but blame an entire team for...people you trained to "trust the process" when you told them exactly what to do when doing the job? Weird. When I reported this disturbing behavior and treatment to our team to upper management, he shared he saw nothing wrong with what occurred and wished me luck in seeing eye to eye with a future employer. This is a company that literally loses nothing when lying to you in an ad and to you in your interview and bringing you on. They have no remorse either since this appears to be their norm. They say they value "integrity" and have you repeat all their 5 "core values" every single day in some weird robotic way at the beginning of meeting but then they don't honor. They expect a very high turnover since they want to get you to work for them for FREE for 1-3 months until you can't handle not making any money. When you go to them sharing how it's not adding up to the "great job" they tell you are doing, they use woo-woo coaching tactics by telling you "your results are a direct correlation to your thinking." When you ask for a model of how to create the 6 figure (heck even minimum wage living...beyond $5/hr) for the 50 hours you'll be working, including Saturdays, they will tell you there is no model except that so and so is doing it but what they don't tell you are these 6 figure examples are folks who are getting the leads that they presort to folks with tenure. New folks like you get the leads they call "Channel 3 and 4"....folks who have indicated they have no money and are not ready to buy anything after talking with you for 6-12 months and have zero idea who Mary Morrissey is or that the program is $30,000 that you're going to try to sell them in one call. WHY THEIR NEW "COLD TRAFFIC" SALES FUNNEL YOU ARE PART OF IN THEIR TRYING TO GROW DOESN'T WORK? This is how it works. Companies love generating leads of any quality so they can eventually sell those leads at various stages on a product after building a relationship but you are part of the "outside sales team." Not the "inside sales team" that gets those leads LMI has built a relationship with over time or previously bought something....anything. So what they do to create a sort of click bait and the "endless amount of leads" they'll tell you they have (not true) is create a 1.) Facebook ad creating misleading message about "Becoming a Life Coach" and their $497 "Dream Builder" program. 2.) Prospect is invited to set appt for Strategy Session 3.) Company labels that prospect with label for Channel 1-4 depending on how they answered on their ability and willingness to buy undisclosed cost of program. 4.) You, Senior Program Expert, in a 100% commission sales role then try to sell a $30k program in one shot, often with very few to no installment options depending on time of year. 5.) Lead asks why they saw $497 on ad? You are told you'll have an "inside" sales person follow up with them to discuss that program. These aren't all the ads, obviously, but an example of tactics they use to manipulate lead...and you. Notice the theme. 99.9% I spoke to had no idea who Mary Morrissey was and the cost of the program when setting up the appt. Many companies are running these new sales cold traffic webinar type sales funnels hoping to make a quick buck and they do...but at your expense and willingness to tolerate. You will work for free and make nowhere near what they promise in their job ad because they can barely fill their calendars. So you sit around all day waiting for an appt and are lucky if you have 1-2 possible calls a day to close on this mystery one call close $30k program. Do your homework and understand sales funnels and how they work. The job ad is showing example of 2 people, literally, that worked there before this "cold traffic" funnel was created and financially benefit from you coming on board because they get a cut of your commission...hence, the recent review. Again, you've been warned that they will not be honest with you in interview since I was extremely thorough when doing so with my questions and they lied to me multiple times. Best to you!

Pros

Peers and management deeply care about individuals and the impact you want to make on the world. I received nothing but love and encouragement throughout the entirety of my time serving at BTI. I was always able to take off when needed for personal things (family, trips, mental health, etc) and my compensation was great! The culture requires a growth mindset with an open heart and it’s wonderful if that’s the right fit for you. I cannot express the amount of gratitude I have for working here and leaving (for reasons not relevant to this review) was a difficult decision due to how amazing my experience was.

Cons

Lots of softwares / tech stack could be more consolidated, (people who aren’t tech savvy could struggle a bit) BUT the admin team are extremely responsive and helpful.

Pros

Some coworkers are friendly, and that helps make the day a bit easier.

Cons

The experience is horrible overall. No professionalism at this company. They seem progressive by hiring a lot of young people, but the work environment is very toxic. Time off is very limited, and benefits are poor, it's hard to rest or plan time away. Meetings include unnecessary and uncomfortable activities. Managers and upper management show favoritism, especially toward certain people, which creates unfair treatment. The way they make decisions on employee matters is so biased. Many processes feel outdated, and there is little effort to improve them. Your manager will only reach out when you're under-performing. Employees do not want to speak up about anything not working well as management will not take any constructive feedback well. Also, if you do not fit in, be ready to get fired. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.
