Pros

Helping homeless and at-risk people find permanent housing and services. Nice colleagues--very motivated people.

Cons

High turn-over. Cliquish upper management. Staff is overworked and understaffed. Expectations of staff to reach unreasonable goals kills enthusiasm. Upper management quick to throw others under the bus to protect their positions. Company has lost its vision to help at-risk and homeless people in order to concentrate on earning fees to manage other developers' projects. Management believes its own hype.

Pros

BG enjoys hiring from within, meaning that once you are employed in any role, it is much easier for you to advance.

Cons

Hierarchical setup makes lots of people middle managers so there are fewer people eligible for unionizing (and more people actively against unionizing). Poor pay for roles considering where they are located. Discourages employees from asking for accommodations. Incompetent management is so far removed from participant-facing staff that many ill-informed decisions are made. Very hard to get hired unless you already know someone there who can vouch for you. COLA is tied to yearly performance review, which is often biased against marginalized staff.
