Pros

Colleagues are smart, innovative, and hard-working. Hands-off management in most teams. Internal career growth is very strong and Brightfield is a culture of continuous learning. Diversity of thought and personal backgrounds is truly valued, it is not part of marketing efforts. Unlimited PTO. Flexible working hours and working arrangements. Free employee health insurance. Colleagues who care about your life outside of work.

Cons

As with any 'non-essential' business, we are impacted by the whims of the economy. This can mean making pivots in priority and company direction in the face of big economic changes. No 401k match, which is a real bummer. No opportunity for in-person connection with others from the company. The remote work is convenient, but we would still benefit from getting to know each other in person, even though that can be expensive.

Pros

Data team members are happy to collaborate, spot check each other, answer questions for new hires. Great team rhythms so you have regular check-ins at a small group, data team, and company wide level. An unlimited PTO policy that is actually used by employees, and everyone gets their assignments completed without micro-management.

Cons

Fully remote means you have to work a little harder to make connections, but regular check-ins and active Slack channels help to combat this. A bit of a learning curve if you are not familiar with the contingent workforce industry. It's not hard to overcome because of the open office/open question culture.
