Pros
This review is for the Analog Group @ broadcom 1. Opportunity to work on a variety of circuit blocks - ADCs, DACs, filters, power management ICs within the same group. 2. Good interaction with system guys 3. Latest CAD tools and awesome support 4. Highly risk tolerant -- size up engineers and give them opportunity to shine without them having to put in years of grunt work.
Cons
1. Aggressive schedules - designer expected to do layout as well. 2. No sense of chip ownership since group delivers only IP. 3. Group operates like a service group and doesn;t share in the profits of the final product. (the system team does). 4. No ethnic diveristy in group - 90% asian.
