Pros
I can speak about VMware, because I left a few months before they god acquired by Broadcom. Base salary is in line with the industry. Stock purchasing plan was a very good addition to the compensation package. There were free beverages, food and fruits in the Sofia office. We had 40 hours a year for volunteering and the management often provided small amounts of money we can donate to NPOs of our choice.
Cons
VMWare lacked direction while I was there. Many of the products are legacy and the cloud transformation is yet to bear fruits. I suppose those were part of the reason why the company was acquired.
