Pros

Top of the line gear

Cons

Where to start? Almost every potential benefit they throw your way is a lie. Work-life balance? Sorry, half the year gets blacked out in January for employees to have any time off. Pay? Seems generous until you actually count your hours worked, and then they have the gall to give you a raise that doesn't even track with increased cost-of-living, if you're even lucky enough to get a raise. Advancement and education? Brown Note University doesn't count because the second things get busy, all of those processes fly out the window, and then management regularly blames the warehouse employees and show techs who are being worked to the bone. You better hope you're already established in your skill set or have higher level techs that are willing to teach and give opportunities, because upper management will pigeon-hole you and claim you're not skilled enough to do anything else. You can have the best gear in the world, but gear doesn't make a production company, people do, and I have rarely seen a company more belligerent to their own employees than this one.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We recognize that the live events industry can be demanding, particularly during peak seasons, and balancing customer commitments with employee time off is an ongoing challenge. We are proud of the investments we make in training, equipment, and employee development, but we also understand that individual experiences may differ. We appreciate your acknowledgment of the managers who have made a positive impact and take concerns regarding communication, leadership, career growth, and employee support seriously. Feedback such as yours helps us continue evaluating our practices and identifying opportunities for improvement. We wish you success in your future endeavors.

Pros

Brown Note's senior management and company owners are always working to move the company forward and make it a better place for it's employees. They are dedicated to investing in the newest technology and also offer year-round training opportunities for every team member, always encouraging continuing education and professional development. Their time-off policy, pay structure and benefits are generous.

Cons

Busy season can affect work-life balance, especially for event staff. This is typically made up for in the off seasons.

Pros

Snacks are free and that's about it

Cons

They teach you everything about how to follow their process at this thing called brown note university but then when they get busy all those rules go out the window making it impossible. Then the managers treat you badly for screwing it up when they are the ones telling you to skip processes.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and that you love our snacks. We invest heavily in training and process because consistency and communication are important to our success. While the live events industry can sometimes require teams to adapt quickly to changing circumstances, our expectation is that employees are treated with respect and supported by their managers. We appreciate your perspective and will continue working to improve how we balance process, flexibility, and communication during busy periods. We wish you the best in your future endeavors.
