Pros
There are boatloads of very smart, talented, kind, dedicated and hard-working people. Promotes diversity / gender equality in management (at least lip service). Work was rewarding a good portion of the time. Good compensation.
Cons
Department goals were often in conflict with one another, which created unnecessary competitiveness, silo-ing, and an "us vs them" mentality. A few bad apples ruining the bunch. (And getting promoted.) Emotionally tone deaf young managers. Micromanagement, fear mongering, emotional manipulation / abuse tactics used. Working 60+ hour weeks was the norm, and expected. A culture of mistrust, treating employees like children rather than trustworthy adults. Icky politics, favoritism. Fakeness, which I think is more a symptom than a core issue.
