Ok for short term, don’t stay more than 1 year - Financial Service Representative (FSR) CIBC Employee Review

Pros

Pay is reasonably good for entry level. Benefits package is excellent. Decent experience for entry level. Do it for a year then get out, you do not want to get stuck in this role long term, trust me.

Cons

You are the bottom of the totem pole. Management piles everything on FSR’s. High stress, high sales pressure, little support from above. If you get lucky to have a great manager (rare) it might be bearable. At a busy branch you can end up dealing with upwards of 30 clients a week plus the pressure to always make cold calls.

Pros

The NY location is close to Grand Central Station

Cons

Slow Canadian culture that finds it challenging to meet US regulatory standards. Executives play favorites and gaslight employees, if you voice your opinion, they either silence you or try to manage you out with exaggerated "performance issues"
