CK-12 has a great mission to help all students around the world and a team of passionate individuals who want to make that mission a reality. The majority of the people I worked with at CK-12 were highly motivated, well educated and intelligent individuals with great ideas and experience in the education industry. The company brings in lunch daily for all employees and outdoor picnics tables allow for lunchtime collaboration and a nice break in the day. Expect monthly socials and other fun ways to break the monotony of a regular work week. Dog friendly office.
Cons
Management has very little trust or faith in employees, preferring to micromanage and dictate work instead of allowing employees to execute on ideas and experiment with new ways to improve the organization. The organization is brought together regularly to innovate as a team, but in the end, management gets the final call and if it's not what they want, too bad. Little support is given for professional growth. Fairly quick turnover.
