COCC has an unwritten policy of hiring people right out of school, the less experience the better. This way your starting salary is very low and your chances to jump to another company are minimal since you don't have experience. It's alarming how few people over the age of 30 work here and if you do get in the door, your chances of advancement are slim and none. COCC is big playing favorites and they promote a college like atmosphere, someone a little older really doesn't fit in. Serious professionals with years of experience need to not apply, having a strong resume is a negative. Little or no guidance/training, low pay, and a reliance on the company is the formula. Of course once employees get some experience they jump ship immediately, it's a poorly kept secret in the industry about the high turnover at COCC. I would say they discriminate based on age, but that is very difficult to prove. However, at 5pm the parking lot looks more like a school getting out, rather than a work place done for the day
