Pros

-was able to make some friends with co workers (but they have now all left the company or been fired!) -get to work from home -base pay is decent -since communication sucks- no one bothers you! seriously haven't talked to my manager in a month -

Cons

If you are reading this and deciding to read these reviews- you always take into account that the employees that are writing the "1 Star" are bitter, and the "5 Star" are in recruiting/hr. Well I don't hate Comparex, and I am not bitter towards it. I just look at my employment here at one of the biggest mistakes in my career... Comparex is one of the POOREST run companies that could ever exist. This is due to the fact that there is not real plan for the company. The objectives are not clear, or the roadmap. So when we have our meetings its hard to display positive affirmation when you cannot effectively communicate where the company is going. Also Microsoft decided to discontinue 2/3 products we specialize in.. (was mentioned on a MSFT blog) Comparex made no announcement about this, or plan of action on how we were going to adapt to this. This happened 2 months ago. There is actually no communication between anyone to the point where the upper management encourages us to spread information around "i.e." gossip if we hear something. The information is usually pretty important to, like when Upper Mgmt is coming to town(which is a big deal when your remote and you alone have to show them around), what services we are currently selling/ verses working on partners with, marketing events that we are sponsoring in your town (that you don't know about and have to attend and drive attendance too) / oh yes and what your quota is, and a lot more but those are some of my experiences. And during the last round of layoffs there was complete HAVOC. Yes layoffs- no mercy, no package, no notice, at the end of the month layoffs to half of the US company. I felt horrible for them and now I am always wondering when it will happen to me. Everyone is flocking from this company. Best Part was when they laid off the part of the HR team after they finished laying off other people. This is not as major to me, but it does annoy some people- everything is controlled by Germany, to the point where now if I need to reset the password on my computer- I have to put a ticket into the the german IT team because we no longer have IT here. I personally like the IT guys in Germany when they get on the chat with me. I think they feel sorry for us!

Pros

What a difference 18 months makes. New leadership in the US has been focused on improving the culture, the morale, and profitability of the organization. New offices, better benefits, better marketing support... the list goes on.

Cons

Like any company, there are some things that can be better. Much of the workforce is remote and it can be tough to develop relationships with colleagues. I wish they would bring the whole team in more than 1-2 times a year to help foster those relationships a little more.

Pros

Colleagues in delivery and support are wonderful to work with - Raleigh office is cool and the location is right downtown in the Warehouse district.

Cons

No career advancement - I was refused training and certification courses because they did not think I needed it to perform my current job (meaning = they did not want to spend the money). They are not invested in their employees and do not have career paths established for any position. I had asked for a compensation increase that would match what someone in my position and experience would be making in the area I live, and was told they would only give me a 3% increase (not even close to what I had asked for). Many people on the delivery side did not get recognized for any of their accomplishments or their superior execution on projects that were terribly scoped by sales. Luckily, I have found another position, but the week that I left, many people were laid off without any warning. They hired a whole bunch of people and tried to be a profitable start-up within a year. That does not happen, period. It was a stupid move and HR and management are to blame for a lot of their problems.
