Racist, Discriminatory, & Toxic-Fake as Fake Gets - Operations CORE Construction Employee Review

Pros

They win lots of jobs due to their fake community personality so you get somewhat diverse experience.

Cons

Unless you are a religious, conservative, white male...you will not be welcomed with open arms. They purposely only mainly recruit from Brigham Young and other religious universities and when you hire on you will immediately notice the lack of diversity. Don't fall for their "we're all family here" or "servant leadership" culture nonsense...biggest red flags I shouldn't have ignored. They will brag about profits and revenue in every company meeting, then tell you at year end review there's no money for raises or bonuses. Except, ironically, all the executive leadership is taken care of and can afford multiple cars and multiple houses. THE most toxic place I've ever worked...even the entire Marketing department in Frisco is a clique of mean girls. Stay as far away as you can from this company. PLENTY of other great GC's, especially employee-owned/ESOP ones, nearby that are much healthier to work for. CORE will never respect work-life balance and will lie to your face about growth opportunities over and over again.

Pros

Lot of room for creativity Other departments were great to work with New building Coffee machine

Cons

Not sure if the culture of the Frisco proposals team has changed since my time at CORE but the proposal department leadership at the time was very toxic - expected to work late into the night in office printing proposals, gaslighting manager called me dumb one day then would take me out to lunch the next day, etc. hot and cold mean girl energy from management. Was an unfortunate situation because the company outside of the matketing department was amazing and I had zero issues. If you are interviewing with them drill them on what work life balance is, and ask them what training looks like - I also remember I was not trained appropriately then disciplined for not knowing how to do certain things that I should have been trained on.
