Pros
CSE ICON offers the possibility of exposure to a variety of small and large SCADA projects, systems, and projects. The opportunity to work remote may be attractive and the long hours and overtime may add additional income to hourly or salaried team members. Coworkers were enjoyable and helpful to work with. Benefits and bonuses are comprobable to other similar sized companies.
Cons
Your experience with CSE ICON will be largely dependent upon which software and team you are working directly with. Projects were often underbid and unsupported forcing team-members to work long hours, weekends, and meet unexpected and reactive forecasts. Though warned by industry colleagues that CSE can be a "revolving door", the opportunities offered I felt worth the risk. Without warning, I was laid off 2 weeks prior to receiving a hard-earned annual bonus when contracts fell slack. CSE ICON also maintains a very aggressive non-compete clause which may make follow-on SCADA employment a challenge. Though I am thankful for the SCADA experiences and company contract exposures I had with CSE ICON, I would have preferred my experiences to have had a less questionable professional outcome.
