Pros

Free pass to see animals you'll eventually get bored of and discount on already crazy overpriced food oh wait these are all cons. Only good thing was the other employees they were nice and fun except for a few

Cons

EVERYTHING MANAGEMENT JUST LOVES BULLYING YOU FOR NOTHING. Absolutely hated management they were so mean and rude for no absolute reason and made you feel less then them. If you hire a bunch of teens don't expect them to be perfect at their jobs this is a huge learning curve for al lot of people but they don't seem to realize that and instead of giving you constructive criticism back they act rude and impatient.

Pros

One-of-a-Kind Environment: Working at the Calgary Zoo is truly a unique experience. Serving guests surrounded by beautiful landscapes and wildlife gives the job a special atmosphere you won’t find elsewhere. Friendly Team: The catering and events staff are incredibly supportive and easy to work with. There’s a real sense of camaraderie, especially during busy events. Event Variety: From weddings and corporate functions to charity events, no two shifts are the same, which keeps the job interesting. Flexible Hours: Great for students or those looking for a second job. Management was generally understanding of scheduling needs. Free Zoo Access: One of the underrated perks is visiting the zoo on your off days or during breaks.

Cons

Physically Demanding: Long hours on your feet, carrying trays, and moving equipment can be tough, especially during peak season. Weather-Dependent: Outdoor events can be tricky to work in Calgary’s unpredictable weather — you’ll need to be ready for anything. Seasonal Work: Most opportunities are during the spring/summer/fall event season. There’s less consistency during the winter months.
