CMA is a great company with excellent leadership and a positive company culture. It's meaningful to do work that supports our communities. Generally it is easy to put your head down and do great work. Nice work-life balance. The team is really warm and welcoming. Modern offices.

At times leadership is opaque and authority rests with a few key decision makers, and people do not know why or how decisions were made, but on the other hand, they have strong leaders with a clear vision who get it right most of the time. As a non-profit at times do not have access to the latest technologies and salaries can lag a little, but that is offset by great work-life balance.

- good place to start if you’re interested in healthcare advocacy - fun staff to hang out with (for the most part) - Many of the senior staff are amazing SMEs, you’ll learn a lot if you take the initiative to shadow them. - friendly atmosphere (for the most part) - cool office space - staff events are actually fun

- no mobility in most departments. If you want to stay longer, it’ll most likely be a horizontal job. - social cliques at work that are unprofessional at times (based on observation; borderline bullying based on the stories mentioned by current and former colleagues. HR has not address this issue during my time there and it may still persist if you plan to join certain departments. - at the end of the day, it’s a job. Don’t get too sucked in to the promise of amazing success or experience during interviews or when networking (emphasis on hiring outside for mid/senior/higher responsibility jobs, not internal. This is the opposite of what was pitched to me during interviews) - you really have to go above and beyond if you want to find a good promotion (have to do things that will benefit the company outside work hours)
