Pros

- Benefits are good (comp could be better) - Some of the people are great (others not so much) -

Cons

- Unfair and not transparent review process. The hidden secret is that the reviews don’t really follow the rubric laid out and is only based on what your coach or people above them perceive of you...basically a lot of favorites get played. There have been conversations had about attendance at after-work events in a performance review meeting...absolutely nothing to do with performance on he job - Inability to go to HR because some of the leaders in management that you want to complain about are really close to members of HR, and the word will get back to them with your name attached. Needless to say, that type of thing will be held against you - Management and many senior officials are out of touch with the people they are responsible for. They hold meetings about how everything is great and how they can’t understand where some of the negativity comes from on Glassdoor. Many of those senior employees have been directed to post positive reviews pretending to be lower level employees

Capco Response

Thanks for the feedback. We are pleased with the recognition for our market-leading benefits package, and the talented people we employ at Capco. However, we are generally disappointed to read your comments. We have a robust and fair performance management process in place, which we have enhanced over the past year based on employee feedback. Multiple people have input into an individual's assessment including coaches, HR and project managers. We run 6-monthly review cycles, and hold roundtables where key stakeholders from across the business assess the performance and development needs of each employee. In these sessions, relative performance is bench-marked against peers to ensure a fair review, and the output is subject to independent validation. We have recently invited employees to share additional feedback on the process, and to make further suggestions for improvement. Whilst any performance management process involves a degree of subjectivity, we genuinely seek to subject this to collective scrutiny, and eradicate any unfair practice or bias. I am pleased to say that in the last 12 months we have had no employee appeals against ratings. Your feedback suggests a personal element to the feedback and, if so, we would be very pleased to discuss the issues and investigate where necessary. The overall comments about Capco and Glassdoor are unfair. The significant improvement in our standing over the last 12 months is the direct result of many employee reviews on this forum that talk about the opportunities available at Capco as we grow the firm, and the ability to progress quickly. As a firm, we recognize that Glassdoor is an important channel for prospective candidates to learn more about Capco. To give greater insight into the firm and our values, we do encourage employees at all levels to share their stories and feedback on Glassdoor. We can reassure you that all employees and prospective employees are encouraged to post whatever they choose.

Pros

- Good work-life balance - Nice people - Cool office (Empire State Building)

Cons

- Low raises + bonuses (promotions are highly political/based on who you know) - Low mobility on certain projects - Difficult to get involved in planning/helping with community events (part of performance review) - Leadership positions competitive rates as our differentiator (i.e., firm competes on cost rather than on technical depth/expertise relative to peer firms)
