Pros

My time interning with Carrier Johnson was both stimulating and fruitful. Though still being a student and early in my career I had the opportunity to become integrated into the company, make connections, learn new practices, and gain hands on experience in the field. Not only did I receive training and practice in new or unfamiliar software, but I also had the privilege of working or meeting one on one with employees in various roles in the company giving me a broad scope of new knowledge and insight into the field. Though only interning for a short time, I quickly felt valued as a part of the company and its success. I can say that this internship has not only propelled me into my schooling but will also have implications on my future career success.

Cons

Though this is in the nature of this kind of work, it did seem at times deadlines were cut really close. Even though me and whomever I was working with were able to meet all of those deadlines, there was still a level of stress or subtle panic added to the work in order to finish in time. I could see that if I were a longer-term employee this could take a toll on my ability to produce my best work. However, I understand that most projects in this feild are approached with a sense of urgency and can require quick turn arounds.
