Pros
None at this point. The culture has shifted. I no longer recognize Cayuga Centers.
Cons
My experience at Cayuga Centers took a dramatic turn due to poor leadership and lack of transparency. Recently, there were mass layoffs that left many of us feeling blindsided. While we were initial told by the Associate CEO Loraine Sanchez that the board approved a 90 day transition period, employees then received an email on 4/10/25 stating that there was a pay discrepancy and we may or may not be paid until further notice. This level of uncertainty and poor communication is unprofessional and deeply disheartening. Many of the front line staff are hard working individuals committed to serving vulnerable communities, yet their dedication is often overlooked. Meanwhile, executive leadership appears to remain unaffected, continuing to draw six-figure salaries while lower-level employees face instability. The culture has shifted toward fear and distrust. If you're considering applying here, please ask detailed questions about job security, leadership transparency, and organizational values during your interview. There are some amazing colleagues doing meaningful work, but they deserve better support from the top.
