Do NOT sell for this company unless you like Oracle’s high-pressure, low-reward culture. - Account Executive Celonis Employee Review

Pros

First, the co-CEOs really care about the culture. They provide 2 annual impact days off where you should do an activity that helps to improve the world. They also provide some rest days which are general days off to recover after busy periods. They’ve also done a great job of supporting diversity and inclusion initiatives and groups. Second, the product is awesome! It is incredibly effective and genuinely helps to improve business processes.

Cons

The sales culture is one of the worst, if not THE worst I’ve ever worked in. Celonis recently decided to verticalize after bringing on a new global sales leader from Oracle. The new leader then brought over all his middle-aged, white, male buddies from Oracle (so much for DI) and destroyed the sales culture. They micromanage and focus on activities that prevent you from calling on customers, while increasing their visibility into their reps’ every move. There is no longer any care for the well-being or happiness of their AEs. Verticals were formed prematurely so we don’t have the proper tools needed to sell and make money. More than half way through the first quarter we still don’t have assigned accounts, but you better believe we have quotas and are required to forecast deals that don’t exist. The morale is extremely low and everyone I know is looking for new positions. You DO NOT want to sell for this company.

Pros

Unlimited PTO and smart people, who unfortunately are leaving.

Cons

Sales and technical teams are not always set up to succeed together, which creates unnecessary pressure on technical teams and contributes to burnout. There is a strong focus on growth, but employee retention does not receive the same attention. Compensation is not always competitive, and career advancement processes can feel inconsistent depending on the opportunities available to you. All approvals run up to founder level.
