Pros

Good benefits, lots of really hard workers that care about the people (clients) that they work with.

Cons

One of the most degrading places I've ever worked. The executive management talks to you like you're trash and like you're stupid- in front of other people too. (I've rounded this a lot) There's no confidentiality in Main HR and the Executive Team is laughable at best with some exception. The Assistant Director of Community Support Services is a conniving back stabbing drama seeker. The Director of Community Support Services / Mental Health Support Services essentially leads by humiliation and fear. There's little to no oversight of Managers and program level Supervisors by either of these people. They don't know what's going on with their staff. In fact, they degrade others below them constantly. The racism, sexism and blatant manipulating lies told by the Director when the Pay Study results came in- she had the nerve to say that we weren't allowed to discuss our pay with each other and if she heard anything about anyone having done so, they better prepare for a problem. Everyone fears retaliation, so they don't do anything. I've personally experienced it myself. HARD. Someone who recently quit (there are many) was finally honest in their exit interview and complained heavily about a manager and a supervisor to the point that the director is now scheduling meetings with individual staff to ask them questions about the manager and supervisor. WHO DOES THAT? This is a result of a lack of supervision and oversight over the people under them. They blatantly have MHMRSA in 95% of their internal email addresses. That means Mental Health/Mental Re***dation/Substance Abuse They were asked to remove or update a plaque in their lobby that says the R word right across the top. IN THE LOBBY! Where people with intellectual and developmental disabilities are waiting for appointments or trying to get help. How awful and degrading. They won't take it down and said that a letter should be written to convey who it was that was asking and why they were asking. Why should we have to do that to get the R word and references to that removed from our internal systems?!
