7yThank you for taking the time to write out your comments and thoughts, we’ve forwarded them to the respective departments. We wanted to state that you are completely correct in the statement that Chief’s philosophy for our security officers is to “Observe and Report.” We want to clarify that we do not ask our security officers to “Observe and Report only, with no other duties.” The purpose of said clarification, and the purpose of our “Observe and Report” philosophy is meant for the protection of our employees. Chief takes each and every step possible to place our guards in locations that minimize as much personal danger as possible while providing them the tools and support required to perform their duties safely. Parking management, enforcement of property rules and conduct, are all standard duties that security officers must carry out every day. These duties are clearly stated in our post orders available at every post, as well as with Dispatch, and Quality Control as well. We never expect nor require any of our officers to physically attempt to resolve any situation, as that could put them in harm’s way. “Observe and Report” means to be observant of one’s surroundings and if one notices any foul play, to report it to the proper authorities.
