Pros

SOME of your colleagues are nice.

Cons

Where do I begin? The chances of you leaving Citizen Relations with the knowledge needed to excel at ANY other PR firm are minimal. They stunt your growth so you'll stay there as long as possible. You may get promotions, but the job title you have here does not meet the qualifications for any respective job title at another agency. You'll be overworked with admin, not included in important conversations, and it's a waste of time to participate in brainstorming sessions - nothing you say will be taken seriously. Management is awful. They're catty, petty, uninterested in your success, and hover over you waiting for you to make a mistake. They claim to have a good, positive work environment, but it's all lies. They're also losing clients left and right, and they'll tell you it's the market, but this has been going on way before the market was suffering.

Pros

- Decent pay and benefits - Flexible hybrid work, never had a problem getting time off - Work with big name clients - Lots of hands on experience in different projects that makes you well rounded - Junior staff has very strong skill set and are the true “culture” at Citizen

Cons

- Veteran employees are traditional to corporate hierarchy. Only their ideas are the ones being executed and give stand-off energy to any one under them. - Pay bumps aren’t significant when getting a bonus or promotion - Understaffed for the last years so working long hours a lot of days - Very rare to have leadership slow down and teach you strategy. Lots of figuring it out as you go
