Redundant with no warning! - Knowledge Management Administrator City Electrical Factors Employee Review

I was made redundant with no warning, effective immediately. Ended one day with a job, next day I did not have a job, just like that. Never been treated so coldly in my whole career! This is very much a retail business - they throw phrases like 'family' around without a shred of irony. There is a lot of scheming and politicking between teams, and the branch staff seem to be treated quite badly. No diversity in the staff whatsoever - at a department meeting there were over a hundred staff, and only one was not white. That lone non-white asked the question, "What is the business going to do in future to ensure diversity?" and the weaselly answer was, "We believe the right people are already coming forward, and diversity can take care of itself."
