Pros
Most of the people are great to work with, and the benefits are surprisingly good. Overall, the job itself is interesting and can even be fulfilling at times. The folks in charge are generally good, hard working people put into an unfortunately difficult position, but will do what they can to work with you when possible. Aside from people from certain neighborhoods I wont name-drop on, most of the passengers are friendly and happy to be there; The smiles are a bit contagious and you will feel like you're genuinely running a highly desired service for the community. If you're a people person and have a bit of a flair for customer service, you can get through your long shifts a bit more pleasantly by engaging with the customers and helping them out with their travels and commutes.
Cons
This job will absolutely DESTROY your personal life. Completely. Utterly. Horrendous hours that, with commute, could see you dedicate upwards of 14-15 hours of your day to work. You WILL be physically, mentally, and even emotionally exhausted after even just a few days. And that's where the real problems come in: This entire service was rushed WAY before it was ready. The crew demands are absolutely unrealistic with the numbers there are to work with, and the operational tempo is only growing with new routes being slapped on within mere months of the service's launch. If you bite the bullet and jump into the chaos, expect to spend, at minimum, 6 day's a week working without a day off, and it's quite normal(As you'll find out rather quickly) for folks to work well over 10-20 days without a day off. If you have a wife and kids, be prepared to never see them(Not awake, anyway.). If you're single, be prepared to stay single and rarely, if ever, get to see your friends. Days off are few and far between, and often wedged between a shift that ends at almost midnight, and a shift that starts as early as 3AM. I can't stress enough how utterly ridiculous the scheduling is, and unless you're REALLY passionate about the work, you'll be hunting for new work within a month or two.
