Pros

Great conservation efforts. Great benefits if you are full time.

Cons

Horrible upper management. They are so disconnected to what the people at the Park and Zoo are doing. They lack leadership skills and integrity. Horrible HR department they are cold, not helpful in any way and are completely lacking compassion and empathy. If a person leaves the company they are not quick to rehire the position and the work gets absorbed between other employees. Management does not train employees so you better be a tactical learner because they expect quick results. Poor benefits for part time employees. No holiday pay and most likely will have to work them. Slow accruing vacation time.

Pros

Once upon a time, the Cleveland Metroparks was a great place to work. Currently, it likely still is for certain groups of folk. The direct service staff and their supervisors, for the most part are lovely human beings.

Cons

CMP is riding on past glory of accomplishments and treating staff well. They have had some financial problems, management is tightening their belts, and it's the direct service staff who will suffer. Full time staff and longevity are giving way to more and more seasonal staff positions which a low skilled, low-paying, and do not come with ANY benefits. In the mean time, higher-paying management positions have expanded.
