Cons

The path to career growth is not always clear. Sometimes ambiguity associated to work can be difficult to deal with.

Pros

Great Team: super smart, passionate and friendly people. We take the no a-hole rule seriously! Mission: the folks that work here are genuinely motivated by our mission. We end up attracting a lot of people that defect from other tech companies b/c they are looking to do something more impactful than optimizing advertising revenue or hawking consumer electronics. Challenges: It's very cool to be part of a company that is making big bets and trying to solve an age old problem (growing food) in a very new way. I feel like we are at the cutting edge of something big. there are a few other companies out there trying to do the same thing, but i feel we have assembled the best team and resources assembled to succeed. Product: our actual product is pretty darn neat. i am proud to demo it to customers, partners and friends alike. and it is getting cooler by the month. Comp/Ben: Great benefits / incentive packages and fun workplace. The vesting schedule is a little long term though.

Cons

we have a lot of offices across the US (Seattle, Chicago, SF, St. Louis, Central Ill.). this can make it tough to stay on the same page as your colleagues, especially when some of these other offices have functional specialities. we should do a better job of fostering cross-office dialogue. The vesting schedule is a little long term.
