Good starting point for those new to shoreside roles within the maritime sector
• Exposure to industry processes, compliance, and training operations
• Opportunity to build connections and gain relevant experience
• Supportive environment for learning the basics of the role
Cons
Salary is relatively low compared to similar roles
• Progression and pay growth may feel limited in the short term
• Role responsibilities can be quite routine at times
• May not be as rewarding for those with significant prior experience in the industry
It does enable a good way into an extremely rewarding industry
Cons
The effort from Clyde is just disappointing at every turn. I had to chase and chase for basic details at every turn. Important information would fail to be passed along and the attitude of some of the training officers I had was abysmal.
And after all that they failed to inform my sponsor that I had completed my training despite months of pestering again and again. I received a call from Clyde a YEAR after I had received my EOOW asking if I had finished everything.
