1yAt Co-op we believe in fairness and equity, and this is reflected in our recruitment processes. We select candidates for interview based on assessment scores. Our assessments are unbiased and performance is measured on situational judgement and job-relevant criteria. Our hiring managers are unable to access any information about protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010, including race or religion. It is because we see strength in diversity that our store managers endeavour to recruit teams that represent the communities that they serve.
Presently, there are no employee referral schemes in operation in our stores and as such, hiring managers do not receive any financial incentive from informal referrals to the careers site.
