Pros

Employees are trauma bonded which makes for good friendships.

Cons

The people who last at this company are those that bow down to leadership and forgo their mental health to serve the CEO amongst his mood swings and temper tantrums. Employees being yelled at and breaking down is a routine here. In leaving this job, I doubled my salary. If I would have stayed, at the rate they were providing raises, it would have taken me 23 years to get to the level of compensation I make at my new employer where I am compensated fairly by industry standard. Employees carry huge responsibilities and get their hands slapped over small mistakes. Expect to take on responsibilities of your counterparts who leave and are not replaced. Free trail mix in the office is treated like a benefit.

Pros

Get to work with some interesting clients who are making an impact on the community. They hire smart, hard-working employees.

Cons

Witnessed multiple employees crying or breaking down over the way they were treated. Huge expectations for staff with very little praise or respect, and no path to promotion or increased compensation. Culture of negative reinforcement and gaslighting. Salaries are far below market level and in comparison to similar agencies in Portland. Higher-up management is old school and could be extremely petty and thought it was acceptable to scream at employees, comment on physical appearances and constantly put people down. No opportunities to give feedback to management through review processes or HR. Zero diversity in hiring despite many opportunities. Many people have left the company in recent years when they realized how undervalued and unappreciated they were.

Pros

Beer on tap, happy hour Fridays. Get to wear multiple hats.

Cons

No diversity whatsoever in work culture. Small teams that don't coordinate with each other effectively. Bad management, and a lack of leadership. No training and they combine the tasks of multiple positions into one which leads to confusion. Pay is NOT competitive for the area. No "climbing the ladder" here, and benefits don't compare to competitors.
