Do not join IT Team - Worked In IT Collin College Employee Review

Collin College, in general, is a hostile environment, especially the IT Programming Team, which has Programmers, DBA, and Application Admins. Management lacks managerial or organizational skills and micromanages. Management keeps the team in the dark with zero communication, but when there is communication, it is micromanaging, abusive and unprofessional. Management has harassed, bullied, and micromanaged many teammates off the team and out of Collin. Many managers here at Collin exemplify everything that a manager should not be. HR was looped in to help with the harassment and micromanagement from management, but the CIO chose not to act. Unfortunately, there is no hope as IT is under a new weak CIO. Some staff who have been at Collin for 20-plus years are also very rude and obnoxious. But their unprofessional behaviors are accepted as the norm. There is no collaboration within the team or departments. Additionally, Collin has no remote/hybrid options.
