Pros

Work environment is phenomenal compared to other lines of work. You're given a great measure of agency and self sufficiency on the job, The work is rewarding and rarely tedious, and the agency is good at matching up clients with caregivers they need. Work-Life balance is great and scheduling is incredibly flexible. When times are good, this feels less like work and more like a community.

Cons

Extremely low pay for the work that's being done. Hours fluctuate wildly and you can go entire pay periods with barely any hours. Three hour shifts are common but undesirable to work as the way their pay system is set up, you are only making a couple more dollars than a two hour shift. Benefits are a joke; no medical insurance, just a prepay agreement with local hospitals that doesn't cover emergency services.

Pros

Great pay and benefit opportunities. The message of the company is good and the owners are incredibly welcoming. They provided all the equipment and were quick to get you whatever you needed.

Cons

The office environment was extremely toxic. It was very "cliche" with everyone saying awful things about each other. Yelling, slamming and throwing things was a regular occurrence. The lack of empathy towards the clients as well as caregivers was abhorrent. The training was lackluster with the view of corrective action instead of preventive action with mistakes. I was constantly ignored or snapped at when asking questions. After spending a day training at another office, I fully believe the toxicity is centered around this one office in particular and does not translate over to the other offices.
