Pros

There are none except for working with the course participants who depending where you are, are people from all walks of life.

Cons

Where do I begin? Extremely hierarchical. Lack of diversity. Lack of accountability for anyone in management so bad behaviour often rewarded or unseen. CEO is really out of touch and archaic. Terrible pay for the amount of work you’re expected to do. People fleeing from their roles like rats off a sinking ship and HQ not replacing anyone. CEO and managers also have their favourites so even if you’re a hard worker and diligent in what you do, if your face doesn’t fit then you’re ignored or worse, targeted. Lots of reinventing the wheel. Extra hours worked are not honoured. They expect you to pay for things out of your own pocket upfront then wait for their very slow finance team to reimburse you. Toxic management culture - most are quite happy to throw you under the bus yet fail to highlight or reflect on where they’ve gone wrong. Quite a few narcissists or those with narcissistic tendencies occupying management roles. Reporting on your colleagues is the norm, and seen as the way to curry favour with managers. Incredibly little to no room for progression. This list is not exhaustive, trust me (yeah, I know I’m a complete stranger, but seriously), just give this place a wide berth. There are far better jobs out there!

Pros

Value-driven work to protect and advance voting rights Respect for personal time Feel genuinely appreciated by supervisors, coworkers, and volunteers

Cons

independent work doesn't always have clear guidelines work is definitely much heavier right before elections so it can feel overwhelming at times to complete all tasks by hard deadlines

Pros

A very impactful organisation that is doing a lot of great things and have influence in a lot of channels and avenues.

Cons

Disorganised and pivots a lot. A lot of the programmes and ideas change as the founder and executive team decide. It's quick to move which is good, but seems very unfocused
