DO NOT DO IT. - Medical Technologist Community Blood Center Employee Review

Pros

Good 403(B) plan. Good sick benefits, once you are there long enough to use them. Good vacation accumulation

Cons

Leadership does not care about any employees, even though they fake it. Employees are not allowed to express concerns about their workload as it is viewed as negative. The company will never hire enough staff members to cover the workload. Senior Leadership continues to sign onto extra projects, but will never plan to staff for those projects. Instead, they require tons of hours from the staff to pull off the projects. This company takes advantage of blood donors, and has taken in a lot of government funds for products that are not needed in the community. Discrimination in the workplace by management is tolerated by HR.

Pros

Good pay, friendly work culture, lots of opportunities for advancement, help save lives every day

Cons

Many positions do require a flexible work schedule (to cover weekend blood drives, also the laboratory is staffed 24/7)

Pros

Great team of individuals to work with.

Cons

Lack of training from the get go. When asked for training or additional understanding of the role, was told to "just do it and you'll understand it." Theres a severe lack of understanding of the role and how to accomplish the tasks needed.
