Pros

I worked at Continuum Energy for over 3 years. I joined because of the strategy, proven execution and Jason Few’s successful track record. Jason Few is a phenomenal leader and really brought the change the company needed. Jason worked tirelessly to create a one-team culture, an environment of accountability and shared success. Unfortunately, there were a lot of bitter employees that resisted change and did not want to embrace the new culture or values. Most of the longer term employees resisted much needed new talent being brought into the organization. The company needed new talent from the outside and significant investment to achieve the aggressive growth goals set by the board. During my time at the company Jason increased profitability, generated needed funding, built an experienced leadership team and through M&A entered the company into the crude oil segment. Jason Few communicated effectively, ensuring everyone understood the company’s performance and their role in helping the company achieve its overall goals. As the oil and gas segment struggled during one of the worst cyclical downturns Jason Few successfully sold the company’s non-core retail and wholesale trading business. Without Jason successfully selling the retail and wholesale business the company would not have survived one of the worst oil downturns that witnessed hundreds of bankruptcies including Continuum’s largest E&P customers.

Cons

Dysfunctional board, bad ownership structure, long term employees resisted change and were satisfied with just having an 8 to 5 job.
