There is not much direction. You are forced to learn everything on everything on your own as the length of employment for paralegals doesn't range from more than a few months to a year. Everything in this office is done on paper. Any type of electronic communication or document must be printed, physically hole punched, and placed in a file. Offices become full of mountains of files. Physical file storage is an actual problem. Locating old files is almost impossible. It's not uncommon to spend hours a week simply hole punching papers and looking for files, all which gets billed to the client.
