Thanks for taking the time to fill out a review. I'm sorry to learn that your experience with Copart thus far has been anything but rewarding. While rapid expansion in staff during 2013 and the first quarter of 2014 required us to obtain additional office space that was not directly connected to our existing floorplan (due to building occupancy), we have invested in ensuring the new work area was consistent with our other work areas, including break room facilities and decor. As staff levels have evened out we have just recently begun a reset of our office space to allow employees more room and improve the workgroup locations to make it easier for teams to interact. If there is an office/facilities issue please be sure to bring it to the attention of Operations and we will see that the issue is addressed.
I am very concerned with your feedback on the friendliness and effectiveness of our HR Team as I have high expectations of them regarding service and support that balances the needs of our employees with the needs of the company. If you feel you have been mistreated by any of our HR staff, I would highly value a meeting with you to discuss your concerns and specific observations so we can take proactive action to correct any issues; if the treatment you describe involves me specifically, I would ask that you contact me or, if you would feel more comfortable, reach out to Will Franklin, EVP, to discuss those concerns as I am committed to providing our employees with 5-star service and most certainly do not want me or my team to be perceived as unfriendly or ineffective.
I will, however, take issue with your comment regarding performance reviews. Copart provides all employees with an annual performance review as well as annual merit increases for great performance. Managers are to provide the reviews on or immediately following an employee's anniversary date each year and the forms used are openly posted on our intranet site for employees and manager's use. If you have not received a timely review, I would encourage you to speak to your manager or Department Head so they can correct the situation and make sure you are properly recognized for your contributions to the team. Further, you should expect that your manager or supervisor will provide you with ongoing feedback during the year when issues arise or when you do terrific work.
Since you noted yourself as a current employee in the review, I invite you to stop by my office at any time to allow us to sit down and talk more specifically about your concerns and provide me the opportunity to show you we mean what we say. My door is always open -- I hope to see you soon.
