Pros

The people! Such a great group who live by the business principles. Really welcoming, helpful and highly skilled. A great working environment built around 'trust first'. A very ambitious company who have worked hard to put a structure in place that offers a great experience for customers and staff. The product is amazing, and the opportunities are endless. An open and honest working environment / culture that encourages 360 feedback, and a focus on personal and professional development. There is genuine interest in encouraging you to be better every day, and the company offer L&D days as part of the package Top of the line tech / hardware, and a flexible work schedule that allows you to perform to the best of your abilities. Although home based at the minute (covid), really excited to properly meet the team at the Nottingham HQ.

Cons

No cons - some great processes and tools in place which do take some getting used to (apple, slack etc.). This business does require you to be self motivated, committed and take ownership of your role - this won't necessarily suit everyone.

Pros

The people are really nice and supportive. On paper, the company looks interesting and full of potential. If you can stay out of the CEO’s way, you might enjoy working here.

Cons

You’re encouraged to take risks and try new things to improve the product ( it really needs to), but in reality, your ideas only move forward if you are lucky and they match the CEO’s very rigid, specific views. Some kind of vision would be useful, but instead, he’s all around, his communication style, often sarcastic or dismissive, creates a culture that supports only his voice. No growth. Zero in and out.

Pros

Smart team members who support you and help you grow. The company respects your work-life balance and is very accommodating (.e.g company card, flexible schedule, learning opportunities via personal development days).

Cons

The company has potential, but the CEO is its biggest drawback. While he is undeniably smart, he lacks emotional intelligence and fairness. He also tends to gatekeep crucial information, making it difficult to succeed in your role. If the CEO does not like you, your best bet is to leave as trying to succeed will be a long road of obstacles put in your way.

It is really disappointing when, despite a lot of effort, a working relationship doesn’t work out. Sometimes however different approaches just can’t be reconciled. I am concerned that you feel that information was withheld from you. It was absolutely not the intention. Please contact any member of the senior team with details so we can learn from this. I truly wish you every success in finding a role that better fits what you’re looking for. - Adam Bird, CEO
