Pros

Amazing coworkers who genuinely care about learning and providing a great experience. Great breadth of experience to gain on many different types of tools. They allow people starting out to get their foot in the door. Good benefits and at least 4 weeks of vacation a year. They’re genuinely a really good place to learn at.

Cons

Everyone is overworked because we don’t have enough people to help. This results in a stuffed queue that will never go down. They will give clients who pay more special privileges which make it harder to appropriately handle all cases. There aren’t enough people because they laid off a large amount of employees last December. They then made an extremely large AI purchase under a month afterwards. This shows where they place the value of employees compared to everything else. Above all else, they pay below market rate for their roles. This is fine when they’re just starting, but they don’t adjust pay with years of experience and it results in them cycling out many employees who know what they’re doing.

Pros

Having worked in the cyber security industry for the last 6 years at multiple companies, my experience at Cyderes has honestly been one of the best of my career. When deciding whether to join a company, it really comes down to the quality of the people within the organization. I’ve had the opportunity to meet the CEO and leadership across multiple practice groups, and I have only positive things to say about my interactions with them. During my time here, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside transparent, professional, and genuinely kind individuals, which has made my experience at Cyderes worthwhile. I’ve been in environments at past companies with poor leadership, micromanagement, unkept promises, and a lack of transparency, so it’s refreshing to be part of a company that continues to grow while still valuing its people and creating a positive culture around teamwork and development. At the end of the day, every company is going to have ups and downs as things change, priorities shift, and the business grows. That’s just a normal part of any company trying to scale and evolve. For me, what really matters during those times is the people you work with and the culture around you, which has made all the difference in my overall experience.

Cons

I have no negative comments about Cyderes.

Pros

Cyderes has brought in strong senior leaders and executives over the past year, and that has created real momentum. If you like change, building, and helping bring more maturity and scale to an organization, this is a very good place to be. The company moves fast, gives people meaningful autonomy, and expects people to own their work but accountability is increasing and not all like that type of environment. The culture is increasingly centered on talented, humble, driven people who want to build something better. It also feels like leadership is investing back into the company and its people, which was reinforced by bonuses being paid this year.

Cons

Cyderes is not the right fit for everyone. It's a higher-accountability environment, and that can feel intense for people who want more structure, slower pace, or less change. The company is still evolving, so some processes, communication, and clarity can vary depending on the team. If you do not like change or being pushed to perform, this probably will not feel like the right place. But for those who thrive in that type of environment, it's a fun place to work!
