VP of CS Left 11/22 and the overall culture got bad - Enterprise Client Success Manager DISCO Employee Review

Pros

The pay was quite good when looking at industry trends. If you happen to be an RSE you can be remote. The work/life balance in CS specifically was quite good - it was better before they forced everyone to be in office full time.

Cons

Unfortunately once the VP of Client Success left in November, the overall culture of the company permeated CS and I realized just how bad it was. The CEO makes many decisions that don't seem to make logical sense and the company's leadership does not stand up to him in any way. They did a round of layoffs in December and couldn't even had concrete messaging for those who were let go (some were told it was because they weren't hitting KPIs that had never been mentioned before and some were told it was simply due to layoffs). Generally things felt unpredictable and uncertain, changing rapidly and erratically. Additionally, the company requires employees to be in office 5 days a week for no reason other than we said so.

Pros

The Forensic Team Director is awesome to work for. He’s always happy to help and always happy to teach. He’s supportive and makes sure we have a great work life balance when possible. Most work is remote and does allow you to stay home and work at your own pace. Travel is pretty much never done.

Cons

Pay is a bit low and departments don’t communicate very well between cases.

Pros

High ownership over work product.

Cons

Always in a rush to deliver feature work, so tech debt accrues and developer experience is much worse than it could be.
