Pros

Some positive things are: you work with wonderful teammates, the environment is very relaxed, flexible scheduling, tuition reimbursement and the work you do is very rewarding.

Cons

When I started in 2012, there were not many cons but in 2017 things have changed. Management/Leadership is not organized, the demand of work does not equal the pay and lack of pay raise (maybe $.10 a year), turnover is rapid and everything is about metrics although they would like you to think the main concern is patient care.

Pros

Stable company to work for with great benefits. DaVita offers tuition reimbursement, so it pays to go back to school and get a degree. They also help with career advancement and development.

Cons

If you are new to dialysis, it may take a while to reach a decent wage. You are required to work 12 hour shifts, mostly on your feet, and managers will always look to add to your workload.

Pros

Patient connections is rewarding work, great hands on experience, paid on the job training, training for PCTs is at least consistent.

Cons

12+ hour long hours, emotionally and physically taxing, unqualified management, poor communication, inconsistent scheduling, high turn over, very little amount of opportunity for movement within the company despite preaching that they encourage it. The culture and values are heavily spoken about with little to no enforcement. The position requires significant dedication to learn all the moving parts of the clinic.
