Pros

- training. They truly care about you in the first 12 months as it’s part of their bonus and a metric they need to meet - they can give you little gifts and money to spend on team members -peers are supportive. I think because they are afraid to lose another peer again.

Cons

- lowest paying for your team members. Makes turnover very high (they are lower by $5-$10/ hour with any other job in the field of RNS or patient care) and will blame it on you - once you are done with your 12 month training you are no longer anything to them. They don’t care about 1 on 1s or follow up - they don’t set clear expectations. They throw out new programs and initiatives but do not explain or coach or teach anything about it. Pray you understand or you are out - no work life balance. You are on call 24/7. Even on pto. You are expected to respond -pto is used for holiday pay. They claim it’s a benefit to have holiday pay but truly you are using your pto to pay for the holidays. Not holiday pay

Pros

Stable company to work for with great benefits. DaVita offers tuition reimbursement, so it pays to go back to school and get a degree. They also help with career advancement and development.

Cons

If you are new to dialysis, it may take a while to reach a decent wage. You are required to work 12 hour shifts, mostly on your feet, and managers will always look to add to your workload.

Pros

Patient connections is rewarding work, great hands on experience, paid on the job training, training for PCTs is at least consistent.

Cons

12+ hour long hours, emotionally and physically taxing, unqualified management, poor communication, inconsistent scheduling, high turn over, very little amount of opportunity for movement within the company despite preaching that they encourage it. The culture and values are heavily spoken about with little to no enforcement. The position requires significant dedication to learn all the moving parts of the clinic.
