Pros
1. Limitless networking opportunities - every week, you have the opportunity to connect with hundreds of industry leaders through digital events.
2. Flexible schedule - the darcy team is a relatively small but truly global team. As long as you can balance your work, it is encouraged to take advantage of the work from anywhere dynamic.
3. Rewarding - As a part of the product dev team, it was fun to be creative and have direct control over the features that we would build into the platform. It's amazing what you can create in such a small time when you have a team that is as focused as Darcy.
Career Opportunities: As long as you are passionate about the energy industry, you will constantly be surrounded by people who share your passion. Whether that is oil & gas, sustainability, power & utilities... The thought leadership at Darcy will force you to think differently about many things in the industry.
Culture & Values: The value that I aligned with most was Growth. I was with the company as we flipped the business model on a dime from an in-person event-focused community to a completely digital networking platform. Personally adapting is one thing, but helping the company establish itself in the virtual world has been an accomplishment I'll always pride myself in.
Senior Management: Have an incredible vision for the company. We had a head start on the industry during the pandemic because we were already building out the digital capabilities months before the US went into lockdown. Since then, it has been an all-systems-go mindset that has further established Darcy as an industry standard for innovation and collaboration.
Cons
As great as "work from home" can be, I wish there was more of an office presence. But the team does a great job at building comradery through occasional (virtual) associate fireside chats for team learnings, weekly tech-talks for product updates, and Friday happy hours for just catching up before the weekend.
