Pros

- You have a lot of resources and support to solve problems; I have rarely felt held back by red tape - Engineering partners are some of the best I've ever had as a PM. The engineers here tend to be good product thinkers. - Colleagues are so positive and supportive - Work is interesting and engaging - Leaders give you space to solve the problems - People are incredibly smart. I have learned a lot here in a short amount of time

Cons

- Problems can be a bit undefined; you must be ok with ambiguity - OKRs and various processes can be a bit hectic. No one seems to love them (though I've been through much much worse) - There is a lot of context switching due to the fast pace of the environment. - The company is weirdly buttoned up - and I'm not saying dress code, it's just that communication is very formal at times I don't know if any of these are "cons" objectively, just thing you'd want to be ready to handle.

The reflections on ambiguity, process complexity, and context switching are helpful and noted. Thank you for taking the time to provide this perspective.

Pros

Datadog has a strong product, smart coworkers, and a fast paced environment that teaches you a lot quickly. I learned a tremendous amount about observability, technical discovery, outbound prospecting, and how modern engineering organizations operate. The company has also gives reps exposure to large accounts and technical conversations early in their careers.

Cons

The ramp for newer AEs can feel steep, especially in a hgihly competitive outbound environment. Success often depends on timing, territory, pipeline momentum, and consistent coaching. There can also be a significant pressure tied to activity metrics and pipeline generations, which may be difficult for reps still developing confidence and process consistency.
