Pros

I’ve had the opportunity to see DeMellier from multiple perspectives, and what continues to stand out is the exceptional level of passion, commitment, and belief people have in the brand and its future. Building a luxury handbag business in such a competitive market is incredibly challenging, particularly as a relatively young company, yet there is a genuine sense across the organisation that we are part of something special. Over the last few years, the growth of the brand and the momentum we have built has been remarkable to experience firsthand. The culture is ambitious, entrepreneurial, and highly collaborative, with integrity at the forefront of everything we do. There is a constant drive to improve, evolve, and deliver at a higher standard, whether that relates to product, operations, customer experience, or internal processes. What I value most is the agility of the business — decisions can be made quickly, ideas can be implemented rapidly, and individuals are empowered to create meaningful impact without unnecessary bureaucracy. It is an environment where people are deeply invested in the company’s success, and that collective ambition creates a very energising place to work.

Cons

As with many high-growth businesses, the pace can be demanding and priorities can shift quickly. However, this is often a natural part of scaling a brand and maintaining momentum in a fast-moving market.

Pros

A great place to work, mainly because of the people and the culture. There is a genuine sense of collaboration across the whole business, where everyone is supportive, brings positive energy and goes the extra mile. A truly multicultural company, where values matter and people's opinions are heard. It’s the kind of environment where you look forward to seeing your colleagues, and where you have the opportunity to learn from great professionals around you. There is a strong connection to the product and a shared sense of building something meaningful together, with a mindset that nothing is impossible, which is driven from the executive level. Hybrid working is a real plus, with people trusted and valued for what they deliver.

Cons

The pace is fast and can feel demanding at times, which comes with the company’s rapid growth. As systems and processes evolve, flexibility and comfort with change are essential, but there are also real opportunities to make your mark.

Pros

You have the opportunity to learn a lot as the teams are small so your remit is often large covering lots of different topics. You get exposure in areas that in larger businesses you usually wouldn’t. Everyone is lovely and really helpful and you feel part of a much bigger team. You can see how much everyone cares about the business in wanting it to succeed. Everyone is super helpful and is happy to help if you have queries. Great hybrid working with only needing to attend the office twice per week which gives you more flexibility. Management and senior leadership are all very approachable and value your input

Cons

The company benefits are quite basic and need improving. Holiday allowance is below what I have had at all the other companies I’ve worked at. No healthcare provisions currently and the staff discount could be improved.
