Pros
I was able to learn a lot of skills that could easily be applied to various industries. DeCA is a great way to get a foot in the door of government service and allows you to more easily apply for other federal jobs.
Cons
I worked for DeCA overseas for several years and had both fantastic managers and those who'd lie through their teeth to get you to do something. Just remember overseas you're FSLA exempt. If you're promised something by a supervisor get it in writing or an email regardless of how trustworthy they seem.
